GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES

How to Join

You can attend a class to try it out at any time. Once you decide to join the class, go to the courtesy counter to get signed up for a YMCA membership.

Non-YMCA Member using Group Exercise Classes

  • Non-Members may attend group exercise classes on a daily basis by paying the group exercise day pass guest fee of $15.

Group Exercise Class Descriptions

AQUATIC CLASSES:

Aqua Aerobics: High energy, low-impact class that has a mix of cardio based exercises. Strengthen your muscles and increase your endurance levels with this full body workout. Can be done with or without equipment in order to modify intensity. 

Aqua Yoga: This is a gentle, low-impact aquatic activity. Water has a buoyancy that provides relief for joints and with the release of gravity the body is able to find the optimum stretch. Use the rhythm of the water to improve balance, increase flexibility and manage pain. **Therapy Pool

Aqua Zumba®: Jump into this low-impact Latin-inspired dance fitness party that is easy to follow, burns calories and makes working out a splash! Let the water move you with this invigorating workout that provides both body toning and cardio conditioning.

Fun Fit H20: Whatever your age or fitness level, H20 is a warm water exercise that’s gentle on the joints. It’s an especially effective option if you’re suffering from arthritis or recovering from a recent injury.

Fluid Fusion: Held in the deep end of pool you are supported by a flotation belt. 0% impact & recommended by Drs. for post knee, hip surgery & spinal issues. Foam dumbbells are implemented to improve cardio as well as muscle tone. A complete full body workout.

Fluid Running: This zero-impact, deep water workout that mimics running on land and challenges your entire body without hurting it. The combination of cardio and strength training, burns 40% more calories than land exercises and it’s suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.

Silver Splash: Offers LOTS of fun and shallow water moves to improve mobility, flexibility & cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability required & a special  SilverSneakers® kick board is used to develop strength, balance & coordination.

LOW-IMPACT LAND CLASSES:

Ageless Yoga: A class for all ages and levels. The focus is on basic poses that can be modified to fit any level of ability, features elements of traditional Ashtanga Yoga. The class will increase strength, flexibility, and balance involving poses that will be both on the floor and on your feet.

BARRE: This is a ballet inspired style of training that works to shape and tone your whole body. It engages muscles you wouldn’t normally target, with high-reps and low-impact movements, BARRE challenges anyone looking to fine-tune their muscles.

Pilates: Offers a full-body workout that focuses on a series of precise movements to strengthen your core muscles while making you more flexible. It enhances posture, muscle tone & joint mobility. Suitable for people of all ages & fitness levels.

RestoraYin Yoga: RestoraYin is a passive, meditative form of yoga that focuses on the release of mind-body tension and bringing the nervous system into a state of healing.

Rock Steady Boxing: This non-contact, boxing-inspired class provides people with Parkinson’s a healthy fitness routine to help increase their steadiness, mobility, and strength, enhancing their quality of life.

Silver Sneakers Circuit: Increase your cardiovascular & muscular endurance with a standing circuit workout. A chair is used for standing support, stretching & relaxation exercises. A SilverSneakers® ball is alternated with low-impact aerobics choreography.

Silver Sneakers Classic: Variety of exercises designed to increase strength, range of movement & activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles & a SilverSneakers® ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available if needed for seating or standing support.

Tai Chi SUN Style: Consists of warm-up, gentle breathing (Qigong), practice form and cool-down & does not require prior experience. Participating in Tai Chi regularly can have health & wellness benefits such as improved balance, better sleep & mental health.

Yoga Flow: For all levels & ages this vinyasa style flow focuses on the connection between breath, movement, and the mind. With a sense of fluid motion from one pose to another in a continuous, smooth way.

HIGH INTENSITY LAND CLASSES:

Beginner Spin: This 30 minute beginner spin class is a HIIT cycling workout that is great for burning fat, building cardio and strength endurance. Featuring a balance of climbs and sprints for a stronger, healthier you!

Body Combat: A high-energy, non-contact martial arts inspired workout to develop co-ordination and release stress. Destroy calories as you punch, kick, block, and strike. This LES MILLS™ class is designed to target every muscle group.

BodyPump: This barbell class will sculpt, tone, and strengthen your entire body, fast! Focusing on low weight loads and high repetition movements, using the proven BODYPUMP™ formula: THE REP EFFECT™ a breakthrough in resistance workout training, you can burn fat, gain strength, and quickly produce lean body muscle conditioning.

Grit CARDIO: 30-min. high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout that improves cardiovascular fitness, increases speed, and maximizes calorie burn. That uses a variety of body weight exercises to provide the challenge you need to get results fast.

Grit STRENGTH: 30-min. high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout, designed to improve strength, cardiovascular fitness & build lean muscle. This workout uses barbell, weight plate & bodyweight exercises to blast all major muscle groups.

Indoor Cycling: This class will lead you through an indoor bike cycling journey that simulates a variety of terrains, hills & intervals. Great  workout for burning calories, toning the lower body, and cardiovascular health. Indoor Cycling Rules and Regulations: 

  • Each bike participant must save their own bike for Indoor Cycling. No bikes may be saved for other members.
  • Bikes are not to be pulled away from the wall until 10 minutes before class starts.
